Credits English composer/arranger/orchestrator/conductor. Born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England 1924. After high school she became professional woodwind/sax player/ arranger touring in bands, broadcasting, recording from age 15. 1946-50 she studied harmony, counterpoint and composition with Matyas Seiber. During the same period she studied conducting with Walter Goehr. She served for ten years on the Music Branch Executive Committee of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. She was a founding governor of the Society of Composers & Lyricists.
